MWT Opens in Streamwood, IL
One installer. One scheduling manager. Blinds, shades, shutters, and basic motorization retrofits throughout Chicagoland. We started small with one clear focus — be the most reliable window treatment installation company in the market.
The Retrofit That Changed Everything
Our first motorization retrofit used Somfy ST30 RTS 24V motors. Our second was motorizing faux wood blinds for tilt only. That client still works with MWT today — now with lift-and-tilt wood blinds and full app automation. From that first motor, Somfy became our standard.
Custom Somfy Glydea Track Fabrication
We began fabricating custom motorized Somfy Glydea drapery tracks in-house for Chicago-area designers and workrooms. Curved, straight, powder-coated — every track built to within 1/8 inch of spec. A specialty no other local installer offered.
Taking Somfy Expertise Nationwide
What started in Chicagoland expanded to the entire country. Cut-down services, motorization retrofits, and custom Somfy Glydea drapery track fabrication — now available to dealers, workrooms, and fabricators from coast to coast. Ship to us. We handle the rest.

Today MWT operates from a 7,000 sq ft climate-controlled facility in Streamwood, IL — expanded in April 2026 to meet national demand. Our 13-member team includes field installers, warehouse technicians, operations managers, and in-house sales. 85% of our work is B2B, serving dealers, designers, workrooms, and fabricators nationwide. Somfy is at the center of all of it.
